This is a quick “highlights safari” that is ideal for those who want to experience a piece of this African paradise but do not have much time like the business traveler. You get to experience two game-rich destinations to optimize game viewing while saving time. You go to Ngorongoro Crater for a tour of the crater, having a picnic lunch at the crater floor and then head to Lake Manyara where you get to see the elusive tree-climbing lions. You do this from some of the best lodges in both destinations.
In the morning after breakfast at lodge/hotel at Arusha, depart for an Elephant game drive at Tarangire national park. The park gate located about 120kms from Arusha barely 2 hours to reach. Tarangire is superb in season but questionable the rest of the year. Elephants are the main attraction, with up to 3,000 in the park during the peak months. Peak season also sees good numbers of wildebeest and zebra as well as giraffe, buffalo, Thompson’s gazelle, greater and lesser kudu, eland, leopard and cheetah. The real prizes in the park are dwarf mongoose, oryx and generuk – but viewings are very rare. Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s finest birding destinations.
Meal and Accommodation at Tarangire Safari lodge

Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater, famous for its tree climbing lions, good elephants and baboons. The lake itself takes up much of the park, leaving a strip of land running along its shores where game concentrates. The park is also famous for its elephant and huge number of baboons, and its varied landscape supports an impressive range of other game including wildebeest, buffalo, hippo, flamingo, zebra, warthog, water buck, dik-dik and impala. In the evening drive to Serena lodge for dinner and overnight.

Wake up in the morning, and then after hot breakfast at Serena lodge, you will depart to UNESCO world heritage site the Ngorongoro crater. The park gate situated about 60kms from Lake Manyara national park barely 1 hour to reach. The Ngorongoro Crater is the best place in Tanzania to see ‘The Big Five’.
